Month One: A Year in Pictures

My little boy is already a month old!! Well, actually he is 7 weeks old. This post is kind of late because I have been a little bit busy with an itty bitty baby these days. And I apologize in advance if this post sounds a little bit choppy and doesn't make a whole ton of sense, but my brain kind of feels like silly putty right now, but I know if I don't post right now I probably won't get the chance to later.

Today we did Afton's one month photo shoot. We decided that we wanted to get his first 12 months in photos in a sort of fun way so we dressed him up in a onesie with his age on it, and we will be making new onesies for each monthly picture. On each monthly post I will post a few pictures and what he has accomplished in that month. At the end of his first year I'm hoping to compile a sort of book of his year one pictures and his mile markers through shutterfly or something like that. Anyways! Here is month one!

 

Afton has grown quite a bit this last month! It seems like every day he is doing something new and cute. This month he has started focusing his eyes on faces and objects more clearly, follows faces and movement, recognizes faces, can tell the difference between strangers and family, recognizes familiar voices and responds to them, reacts to sudden loud noises, and has all the typical baby reflexes. For the fun things: likes to be on his tummy, is very social and likes the be in the middle of a group, sleeps for an average of 5 hours straight a night, smiles in his sleep, socially smiles (after some serious prompting), needs to be patted very hard in order to burp, loves music, likes to be sung "La La Loo" from Lady and the Tramp (by Sarah) and "Lullaby" by Colors (by Cortney) at night as his lullaby, is a great traveler and likes to go places, wants to be constantly held, likes to have his feet rubbed, doesn't like baths but likes showers, likes having his hair washed and brushed, loves being warm and doesn't like to be naked (yet), and as of lately he has shown a little bit of interest in his rattle toys. But I'm sure those kinds of things will develop more in this next month.

I can't believe how incredibly fast he is growing! He is the most precious little boy and I just can't get enough of him. I love him so much and I'm so happy I get to have this time with him at home while I can before I have to go back to school winter semester. He is just the best little guy ever!
